Christmas in the trenches

Well its Christmas, also my birthday and we are still at home. My wife is sick with the flu thanks to the lack of flu vaccine. My daughter Hope has the cold from hell and my daughter Suzi is also not feeling 100%. So we are all making do, I made a nice crock pot stew for dinner and in a few min. Ill go and put a loaf of bread in the bread machine for dinner too. It put a bit of a damper on the day but I guess that you cant fight mother nature. I think that both of my girls still believe that santa came last night. It sure didnt hurt that some nice fellow flew a santa sleigh and reindeer balloon with a long string of red lights over the route 309 expressway last night. I had the best time pointing to it last night as the kids and I went to a christmas party. (no I didnt know that hope was getting sick) I was up till past midnight wrapping stuff but this moring it was all worth it. we had a nice Christmas morning and I think that everyone was happy with their toys and other stuff. I do hope that you all had a good christmas and were able to be with family too. Ill close for now with the prayer that all my friends near and far are safe and that the cold outside is matched by the warmth of this season. Love to all

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sorry the family is sick and you had to tend to them rather than enjoy your day. It may not be the perfect scenario, but there's something to be said about having loved ones to take care of and wrap presents for.
Hope you have a wonderful year full of love and happiness!
