Hopes first day back in kindergarden

Well today my daughter hope starts her 2nd trip thru kindergarten. I know that she needs the academic side of it. She was still a bit behind all of the rest of her class and her speech was still a problem. All of this leftover from the abuse and neglect she suffered thru in china. But today I think I finally broke when she was crying and telling me she just wanted her old friends and to go into 1st grade with them. I couldn't stay there I had to come to work and pull my self back together. I know that this is the best thing for her but it is so hard to watch. I am hoping that when I go to pick her up at aftercare she is feeling better and that she has found some new friends to make her heart feel better and not so empty. Yes she will see he old friends on the playground but I don't know if that is a curse or a blessing.
