When it rains

I guess that I cant say that only bad things happen in bunches. Good things happen too. I just found out that a place I buy supplies is selling off some of its stock when it moves to a smaller location so now I have lots more hardware to use up. At the same time I just got some new work to use the stuff I just purchased. I just scheduled the family ski trip to Vermont. And Im going to go to Rochester and san Diego in the next 4 weeks. I should be having a great month of march. hope that you will all do the same.

Out on the ice

Well I knew it had to happen at some point. My girls want to go ice skating. I haven't been out on the ice in many years and it has been 3.5 decades since I took lessons. Oh well I guess Ill post a few pics when I get home if I haven't broken every bone in my body. Ill try to be careful because we have a ski vacation coming up in 2 weeks. Have a good weekend and I hope Ill be back with pics to show.

You know your too busy when

You know your too busy when,
1) you are buying more tp for your office then your house.

2) when the recycle bin at your office looks like it is for a family of 4

3) when the stack of pizza boxes is as tall as the trash can

4) when the Chinese delivery place knows the code to get in after hours

5) when the guy from fed-ex calls your shop to leave stuff for the other business in the building at 8:00am

6) the meter maid puts quarters in your meter for you and then gets the money back when you come up stairs after working all night.

Ah well I said I wanted to be my own boss I guess these are the perks

Happy Valentines day

Well it is here again VD time to get out the card and find some nice thing to do to show the people I love that I still do love them. My wife is easy she likes cards and having me cook dinner. My mom is a bit harder to talk to these days. MY family went to dinner with my parents on sat. night. Mom since the chemo is loosing here ability to talk and so she doesnt talk at all for fear of not haying the words. She may not understand every thing any more either. All I can do is hug her and tell her I love her. My folks just bought a house in Florida to spend winter in. The left today to make settlement and stay there till the middle of April. I don't thing that I have been this far away from them since I finished school. My kids are all excited to go down to Florida to see them. Dad just told me and my sister that he is now fully retired and that he is going to enjoy his time with mother and just sit on the beach. I guess this is my dads gift to my mom.
sorry if I seem to be rambling but I am having a hard time watching as my folks get old. I guess that I am a bit worried about loosing them too. Remember all your loved ones this day and don't forget to tell them all you love them.

Its that time

You all know that men hate to go to the doctor. Ever since I had my heart attack in may of 2002 I have been making it to the appointments and get the your doing well speech. Your weight is down and your blood work looks a bit better keep up the good work. Well this time when I went I didn't get the your doing well speech. The AMA along with the government changed the standards for LDL and HDL and and few other things so now I need to do more work. Oh yeah and lose a few more lbs. So here I sit thinking if I didn't have so much work I could get out for a longer walk. If I had better lunches I could loose the weight. I know that Ill try to do all these things but the reality is that I will lose my hair before I lose 20 lbs and while Ill cut out the carbs and that means the potatoes and pretzels and bagels breakfast is still a bowl of corn flakes and milk and lunch will still be pizza here and there. So what should I do? Im not too sure at this point except I will walk more. Ill do it for the kids so that dad is around a bit longer. I just have to say that I wish that the drugs that they have me on didn't make me feel so sluggish. Well at least he was happy with my BP 110/60. So Im off to take my walk before I get down to the soldering for the day. Remember do it for the kids if not for you.

Working stiff

Remember when you were young and you could pull an all night shift and work the next day without even feeling it! I know that this is still true for some of my readers but I know it is not a thing I can do without being near dead the next day. As you all know much sickness has been in my house so in an effort to catch up I tried to work many hours at home at night and thru the weekend. The results have been less then wonderus. I am stiff sore and dont really feel I got as much done as I should have. Im sure that in some way what I did could be thought of as being a good dad and I do like earning the points for that. Being home with sick kids is not the best time to try work. When I did get back into the shop many messages were waiting for me about things that you all want me to get done. I promise Ill get to them but I need a little more time. I will remember that you gave me that time and wont bug you when your check is 30 days overdue.
I also will try to remember that you all have familys too and when you need time becaues your kid is sick and you need to cancel on me Ill be sympathedic. Ill be back up to speed in a day or two and I hope that my postings will reflect that too.

Out of the darkness

Well Im finally getting back to a normal computer life! My lap top less about 150 pictures is back up and running with a new operating system and better virus protection. My shop computer got a new motherboard and will need to get a new cd writer as that is what blew up the last motherboard. My daughter is still not quite back to normal but maybe after the weekend she will be able to go back to school.

Here's the take home lesson for all of you out there. 1 Your Family is the thing that you need to have reserve for, sickness dissertations and homework are as important as your work and sickness trumps all. 2 back up everything even if you put it on a floppy or a re-writeable till you have enough to be worth a cd that is how I lost the pictures. 3 DONT EVER GIVE YOUR CLIENTS YOUR HOME PHONE! 4. When you do get back to work remember you cant dig out in one day you were out of work for a week so easy does it.

Also if you ever get pink eye dont even think about working for the next 24 hours. I here by apologise to lisa at PCOM for exposing her to it and feel bad she now has it. I didnt know what it was when it started and was talked into working for a bit longer by the client dumb dumb dumb!

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts.
