when all else fails

I just spent a few hours taking apart a bay I just built, I cant say why but I had the whole thing wired one space off. I guess the new workbench is making it hard for me to see. I need to install some more lighting I guess. Oh well I'm sure that when I get back in the morning I will get the whole thing back together and all will be fine. I'm going to go home and make dinner and light a fire in the fireplace and sit and play for a while have a great night and I know that in the morning Ill be ready to get back to this. I want to say a thank you to all my friends at fest, I cant tell you how nice it was to sit and talk this year and I look forward to taking BEFORE next year.

fest review

I got home on Monday after pulling much of my stuff thru the mud left by 2 days of rain. I had both of my girls with me on Sunday night and felt real bad when I woke up in the morning to my 6 year old in a very wet sleeping bag. I got her dressed and off with my sister so I could break down camp it was not a whole lot of fun. The music this year was good even though the list of performers was only so so. Doc Watson and Mavis staples were great so were some of the lesser known performers but with no other big names the fest didn't have the zing it has had in the past. I had a great time watching my 11 year old Suzi find her wings and make new friends up there and how well she did with the adults at my sight. She is going to be a tough customer for any boy that wants to date her in a few years. The usual friends were there and I have found that many of them have much to deal with after fest. I hope that all the prayers and thoughts I am sending out will help. I will go back to the fest if they hold it next year but I will have many more ghosts to deal with on site. we will see if it is just too much to deal with and if I need to find another fest to work at and to make the summer feel right again.

leaving for the folk fest

My daughter and I leave today for the folk fest. this will be the 2nd year that she has come with me to camp for the week. I am looking forward to the time with her and the time up at feat with the people I have come to call my extended family. there is nothing more wonderful then the greetings between the people I have known all of my life. I have worked at this fest since I was 16 and have been to almost all the fests before that. I wish that you all could see the happiness that surrounds the camp and all of the friends who get back together each and every year to enjoy the music work and play this most wonderful week in august. Have fun and be well.
