The good and the bad

I have my new truck now and am quite happy with it. This new is colored by the events of the past week. A friend of mine from college has told me that her brother who was stricken with meningitis in October may be in the last of his life. Much of his systems were damaged due to complications of the meningitis and he is now on a feeding tube and many of the same questions that are in the news today are being asked. One difference is that he did assign a proxy and we do know what his wishes are. I guess that this makes it easier to deal with but it is still very sad and hard to deal with. We have been told there is still hope so we sill wait and see, as per his directive. I do hope that all of you reading will follow his example and mine. Write a living will and tell people where it is and that they need to follow it. Don't make your friends and loved ones guess. Right on down to being burred or cremated TELL PEOPLE. It is the kind and loving thing to do for all of those you love.

The good and the bad

It seems to be a time for just being happy that I survived the 2 accidents. Others in my life are having a much harder time with it all. Steve Dunn the brother of an old college friend is in a hospital in Colorado where he has been since October after getting spinal meningitis. He had some major complications from it and is now not responsive and is dealing with many infections and other problems to boot! This guy beat cancer 10 or more years ago and has helped others to research and deal with their cancer. He is a strong person and he has so many who want to see him recover. The drs have said that there is not much chance for him. I just cant stop praying that by some divine act god will give him to us for a bit longer as a whole person. I cant say I know Steve real well but the few times we have met I know I was with a truly nice and good person. Hug your kids and remember that you always have something to live for.

I was driving to a job yesterday at about 3:15 when I was broadside by a older gent with coke bottle glasses. Yes I have been in 2 car accidents in less then 3 weeks and both right before I am supposed to go on business trips or vacations. The car I was hit in was a rental and until I hear different I think the old geeser had car insurance. But I think this one too is a total loss. On the bright side the insurance co is giving me 19.000 for my truck so Im going to make out ok as far as getting a new truck. I do hope that this string of bad stuff is over but time will tell. Im ok a bit sore but getting around. I need to go and cook dinner but how is that for just shy of 3 weeks in a life

Truck shopping

It is something I never like to do and this time is no different. I hate car dealers I hate the stuff you have to do to get the car at a price you are willing to pay the whole thing sucks. Dealing with them is just one step above taking gum off your shoe or asking a lawyer to help you get a divorce without putting you in the poor house. I cant tell you how much I hate people that are willing to lie to your face. Well enough I think I have found a new car I just have to get them to agree on the price. Im not asking them to just give me the car but it is a 2004 and I don't think that anyone should pay full price for a car that has been sitting on the lot this long. Oh well when it is all said and done Ill have a truck one year newer then my old one and a bit nicer inside for about 4000.00 I didnt really have to spend. Oh well.

Home from vacation

We arrived home at 3 am on sat. I got the van back to the rental place and picked up the rental car. We all gad a great time on vacation. Suzi showed me that she remembered how to ski and we had fun on the blue trails hope is learning and I spent a few hours skiing backwards to help her learn the snowplow and how to turn. All in all it was a great vacation. pics to follow. On the truck story I found out today that they will probably total the car so I need to look for another nice new truck to buy. I guess I will just get another nissan as I liked it a lot but Ill look around at the Toyota too. Hope that all of you are doing well and that Easter will be a family time for all.

Car wreck

Killed my truck today Im fine but it is dead. Oh well Ill rent a car to go on vacation with the family and figure it all out when I get back. I could use some good wishes and prayer now so they might fix my truck instead of just junking it. Im just not having a good day

One for the road

Im off, today toms river, tomorrow Rochester for 3 days + with travel then home. But only for a second then in the truck with two kids and my wife and off to Vermont. It is the first vacation in 3 years to go ski. Suzi is very excited and Hope just doesn't know what to make of all the packing and looking at skis and other ski related stuff as we gather all the stuff we want to take. I cant believe that I am just about ready to take a week off work. I will bring my laptop and finish programming for 2 jobs but it will still be a week away from solder and shrink and any of the phone calls that I normal get at midnight or 3 in the morning. Guess that is about it. Im going to enjoy all of the problems that being away will cause just because I haven't had to in THREE YEARS. Ill check in from the lodge you all have a good march.
